A wine bar and restaurant. Very South West, very Paris!
Au Pere Louis is a famous spot for wine and south-west tradition food. You will be nicely surprised with the wine list including about 40 references of reds, whites and roses, plus the monthly selection. I’ve never been disappointed with a wine choice even the cheapest ones.
The place is simple and friendly. It is lively with no music but enlivened conversations, laughs and clinking glasses. At the bar section, wine casks serves as tables. Many Parisians would spend the entire night there ordering a bottle of wine and charcuterie, foie gras or cheese platter to share. If you are willing to enjoy a full meal, you will prefer a table at the restaurant. Duck is the chef specialty. So I would recommend you to go for the homemade cassoulet and/or grilled foie gras !
