It’s summer time in Paris ! Here is a list of some of the best ice-cream makers in town to cool down. Alors 1 ou 2 boules ?

Ice-cream hawkers in Luxembourg garden: the best sorbet in town. During the summer, two ice-cream hawkers settle just in front of Luxembourg garden entrance close to the RER station. They offer a wide choice of flavors including kiwi, wild peach, violet, calisson…  For a pleasant break in the garden or to stroll cone handed in front if the photography exhibition that is usually displayed outside the garden.

Berthillon : the Parisian institution. No need to introduce Berthillon. It’s just the famous ice-cream maker in Paris which is located in Ile-Saint Louis. It serves ice-creams to die for. And indeed, it only use good products such as dairy milk from Villetin farm (where you can also pick your own fruits and vegetables). They’re so successful they close during the pick season from mid-july to end of August. But many locations nearby serve Berthillon ice-cream that you will easily find as they display the logo.

Amorino : the most popular place. In the past decade, Amorino has become one of the most popular ice cream shop in Paris. With 25 shops in the city, this is the safe bet to fullfil a sweet crave.

Victor & Hugo : the trendiest ice-cream. You can choose a traditional cup or ask the house specialty : ice cream served as a pie.

Le bac à glaces : the most rock & roll. Sylvain Yoël makes excellent classics but also innovate with some very unusual flavors such as beaujolais nouveau (a French wine) or camembert (a French cheese). All ice-creams are artisanal and made with natural products.

Grom : the biggest Italian player. Grom has recently open a shop in Paris and offers great Italian ice-creams. Some are gluten-free.

Pozzetto : the italian tradition. Only 12 flavors are displayed in the shop that claims using Italian traditional methods.

Mary Gelateria Naturale : the girliest ice-cream. Mary is a very talented women and serve some great Italian ice-creams. In 2008, she’s awarded the golden cone (cono d’oro) for making the best artisanal ice-cream. Bravissimo.

It Mylk : the best view. The booth located in Galerie Lafayette rooftop serve frozen yogurt. The ice-cream is not remarkable but you’ll get the opportunity to enjoy a great view of Paris.
